I am a big supporter of the WordPress platform. Although I can and do code regular websites, a WordPress site is generally the best choice for any small business because:
- You can maintain your own site without having any skill or experience with coding. None. Nadda. It’s very similar to using a word processing software like Microsoft Word. No need to pay extra for maintenance, unless of course you’re just not interested in doing it yourself. All of my clients have access to a password protected area that contains WordPress training videos to get you maintaining your website quickly.
- WordPress was built with SEO in mind and there are numerous free plugins that add additional features for your on-page SEO efforts.
- With WordPress, you can have your blog and site all in one, and they integrate together and share the same look and feel.Through the use of plugins there are so many different functions you can add to your website. You can have your own forum, or have your latest tweets posted, embed picture galleries and other media… the possibilities are almost endless.
- There are a bunch of other reasons why WordPress rocks and I’m happy to discuss them with you if you’re interested, but those are the biggies. Of course though, if you’re interested in a traditional HTML site, I can do that, too.
After you’ve received and approved your quote, and all design details have been finalized, I’ll be ready to start work on your design. The design process takes place on my servers, so if you have an existing site it can remain up with no downtime. You are involved in every step of the way, so I’ll never go too far without asking for your feedback and making changes as we go. And that’s how my process works until the design is complete.
Generally, the design process takes approximately four weeks from start to finish. If you need your site complete faster than that, I may be able to put a rush on it, depending on my current schedule.
If ever you’re unsure about something, I’m happy to also provide insight and will never take offense if you don’t take it. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure you’re happy with your website and that it’s exactly what you wanted.
